GC System with Back-flushing Pre-Column Injector

Are You Analyzing Unnecessary High-Boiling-Point Components?

This system retains and eliminates unnecessary high-boiling-point components in the pre-column to reduce analysis times.

System Flow Diagram

Sample Analysis Data: Impurity analysis in diisobuthyl hexahydrophthalate (DIBE, CAS 70969-58-3)
An analysis time of 28 minutes is required if the unnecessary DIBE is not precut and back-flushed (left diagram below). However, the analysis can be completed with the elution of the target citraconic anhydride (2-methyl maleic anhydride, CAS 616-02-4) in just 16 minutes if the unnecessary DIBE is precut (right diagram below).

Features

Reduced analysis times

To reduce analysis time, this system retains and eliminates unnecessary high-boiling-point components in the pre-column and sends only the target components to the capillary column, back-flushing the “heavies” to vent.

Stops deterioration of capillary columns

Not introducing the unnecessary high-boiling-point components into the capillary column prevents deterioration of the column.

Allows highly accurate analysis

Digital pressure control and autoinjector significantly enhance the reset-ability of conditions to permit highly accurate analysis.
