
The C-R7A Plus utilizes a high-resolution A/D architecture. This combined with Shimadzu's proprietary integration algorithm allows integration of peaks as small as 0.04 second at half height. This exceeds the requirements of even the fastest capillary GC analysis, but indicates just how much we over engineer our products at Shimadzu.
When combined with the wide-range FID of the GC-17A, the C-R7A Plus provides a dynamic range as wide as 108. Once acquired, the data is stored on a floppy disk or on a 40 Mbyte hard disk. The raw data may be processed with any analysis file, but cannot be altered. This means that your data is safe. Our proprietary compression algorithm further ensures that you can store a lot of data on your disk. A typical 30-minute chromatogram acquired at a width of 5 seconds at half peak height uses approximately 8.5 kbyte.
Four windows may be displayed in single or dual window mode.

The C-R7A Plus uses 4 independent windows to monitor and control various operations. These windows may be arranged in two different modes ···single or two window mode. In the single window mode, the user moves sequentially through the windows. In the dual window mode, the user may select any two windows which may be viewed simultaneously. For example, the Main Menu may be seen at the top while the monitor window is operating at the bottom.
The windowed user interface and the multitasking operating system make it possible to perform 2-channel asynchronous analysis while editing a BASIC program.
The Sample Schedule, which allows easy defining of analytical conditions for each sample, permits automatic, successive analysis of several samples.
The Sample Schedule also supports the bracket calibration.

PC based chromatography systems mostly utilize printers developed for the business world. Often, the print quality is marginal and it takes a long time to print a chromatogram. The C-R7A Plus comes with a printer designed for chromatography applications. It ensures high resolution and hardly requires maintenance. Use of a thermal printing head removes the consideration of ink depletion. The printing is done 3 to 10 times faster compared with our previous models.
Utilizing the irreversible coloring reaction, the newly developed AF thermal paper provides almost permanent record. (AF : anti-fade)
The printer spooler is built in, which minimizes the "wait" time between runs, reducing the analysis cycle in automated analysis using an auto sampler.
The standard 40 Mbyte hard disk can store about 2,000 typical chromatograms.
The C-R7A Plus supports a directory of hierarchy system to ensure easy search of data. Directories are automatically established with the analysis date at the top and analysis files and parameter files below them.
When you forget the procedure and if it's troublesome to consult the instruction manual, just press the HELP key. A HELP message describing the current operation is displayed. Once in the HELP screen, it is possible to utilize the reference function, making it easy to search for commands, etc.
