An automated micro manipulator for biotechnology and FTIR spectroscopy/surface analysis.
In biotechnology, the micromanipulation of cells is an important technique normally requiring some degree of skill. Similarly, special techniques are also required for microsampling of minute sample in FTIR spectroscopy and surface analysis. In genetic research, micromanipulators are essential for handling living cells only microns in diameter.
The Shimadzu MMS-77 Micro Manipulator System was developed to satisfy all of the requirements of sophisticated micro manipulation. The MMS-77 allows manipulation along all three axes at either micron or millimeter scale using a pulsed motor drive.
Furthermore, microprocessor control not only allows such sophisticated manipulation without any special skills or techniques, but also assures accurate and reproducible handling.
