We launched “Shimadzu Users Seminar (FPD-RF system application)”, a workshop to search for clinical application of Tomosynthesis, Slot-radiography and Dual Energy Subtraction by SONIALVISION safire, in which the users exchanged technical information and clinical demands with each other. On June 12th, 2010, the first seminar was held at Shimadzu corporation, Tokyo office.

Ms. Kaoru Shimizu, Department of Radiology, National Cancer Center East Hospital, served the main organizer, and Mr. Takashi Tanaka, guest professor of Tokyo Metropolitan University, took the place of the chairman in the first seminar. As many as 80 users participated in the seminar from eastern districts of Japan. Mr. Hiroshi Hirano, Chief Radiographer, Department of Radiology, Shinshu University Hospital, provided them with the special lecture “History and future perspective of Tomosynthesis”. Furthermore, 4 study groups composed of “Basic property”, “Dose measurement”, ”Image reconstruction parameter” and “Clinical application”, which will be key groups in the future activity, presented the report of each research. The seminar concluded with great success by the above fruitful program.
