Inorganic Components in Mineral Water
An ICP emission spectrometer and ultrasonic nebulizer can conduct highly sensitive analysis of trace metal components in mineral water. Axial plasma observation, which reduces the background spectrum due to argon emission, enables even greater sensitivity, and results in approximately five times the sensitivity of conventional radial observations. Quantitative analysis of trace metal components (Al, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Se, Mo, Cd, and Pb) in mineral water was conducted with an ICP emission spectrometer and ultrasonic nebulizer.
The wide dynamic range of the ICP emission spectrometer allows the simultaneous analysis of major components such as sodium and calcium as well as cadmium and other trace components in the same solution. Using a hydride vapor generator further enhances analysis sensitivity for arsenic, selenium, and antimony.
