Inorganic Components in Brown Rice and Leaves

The inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS) offers a wide dynamic range and highly sensitive analysis, and permits batch analysis of trace inorganic components such as cadmium, arsenic, and selenium in the same solution. The table below shows analysis results for brown rice, tomato leaves, and citrus leaves.

The sample solution is efficiently ionized by plasma and then separated and analyzed by a mass spectrometer. This instrument permits highly sensitive multi-element simultaneous analysis; simple qualitative analysis; and isotope analysis. It uses a quadrupole mass spectrometer (MS) for greater compactness.
