Analysis of Residual Organic Solvents in Food Containers and Packaging Materials(GC)

The manufacture of packaging materials and containers for foods involves the use of organic solvents in printing inks and adhesives. It is necessary to provide quality control for residual organic solvents. Residual organic solvents in packaging materials have traditionally been analyzed. Headspace GC (gas chromatography using headspace sampling) is the most commonly used analytical technique.
The following introduces examples of the analysis of residual organic solvents in packaging materials.
