Quantitative Analysis of Sodium in Food Raw Materials by EDX

A quantitative analysis of Na in raw materials for food products was conducted using EDX. Although atomic absorption spectrophotometry is generally employed, use of EDX can be expected to reduce running costs by simplifying the analysis procedure, as ashing treatment, solution preparation, and acetylene gas are all unnecessary.
