Improvement of Productivity in Research on Intestinal Microbiota by Shim-pack™ Fast-OA High-Speed Organic Acid Analysis Column
The measurement of short-chain fatty acids, which are metabolites of the intestinal microbiota, is considered to be useful for observing microbial activity. The post-column pH-buffered conductivity detection method using HPLC is an excellent method for analyzing short-chain fatty acids with high reproducibility by suppressing the effect of contamination. However, the length of analysis time has been a problem with conventional columns. The use of Shim-pack Fast-OA enables the quantitation of short-chain fatty acid content within 10 minutes of analysis.
