Fast and highly sensitive analysis of multiple drugs in ground-, surface- and wastewater

Successful establishment of an automated method for the separation, identification and quantification of a mixture of different types of drugs out of wastewater is demonstrated. The simultaneous analysis of sulfamethazin, sulfamethoxazol, benzafibrat, carbamazepine, diclofenac, clofibrinacid, ibuprofen, iopamidol and iopromid was performed on Shimadzu's highly sensitive triple-quad-MS system LCMS 8050. The method allows measurements in a concentration range of nano grams per litre within a time range of 6.5 minutes. Substances with positive and substances with negative ionization were analyzed during the same single run.
