Analysis of Chlorpromazine in Milk and Chicken Egg Extracts using Triple Quadrupole LC/MS/MS

Chlorpromazine hydrochloride is mainly used as a tranquilizer (pharmaceutical) and is classified as a substance which must be contained in food according to the Positive List system. The LC/MS method has been used as a test method for it in the past, but since it is not a method that can be applied to all livestock and seafood, the test method has been reviewed and a new method has now been submitted to the council.
We provide an example of an analysis that quantifies chlorpromazine in milk and egg extracts in accordance with the test method in the presented consultation document.
