Analysis of Phenoxyproprionic Type Herbicides using LC-MS

Fluazifop, quizalofop-butyl, and other phenoxyproprionicagricultural chemicals are used widely throughout the worldbecause they have strong herbicidal effects at low doses.The compound inhibits the biosynthesis of fatty acid byacetyl CoA carboxylase inhibition with the active substanceas carboxylic acid type. In Japan, the residues ofquizalofop-ethyl, cyhalofop-butyl and fluazifop are known tobe problems and test methods are prescribed byregulations. To determine the total amount of agrochemicalresidues, the amount of quizalofop content is measured by HPLC/LC-MS analysis after hydrolysis of quizalofop-ethyl.
