A Study on a Method for Evaluating Glycans in Biopharmaceuticals - Part 2

Biopharmaceutical products as typified by antibody drugs are subject to post-translational modifications. Among these, modifications of glycans have gained attention as items for evaluating quality since they are associated with the adjustment of protein functions, as well as with the unwanted development of antigenicity depending on their structure. However, there are various technical challenges in evaluating glycans.
This article introduces the results of a comparative investigation of various current preprocessing methods with a view to standardizing N-glycan test methods.
