Axial Compression Test of Hat-Shaped Specimens

In the automotive industry, use of high tensile strength steels and composite materials in automobile bodies for auto body weight reduction has been expected in recent years. To achieve this, not only the mechanical properties of test specimens, but also tests that guarantee safety in actual structures are important. The Shimadzu AGX-V precision universal testing machine can acquire the output of 20 channels of strain gauge output, making it possible to measure local deformation in a structure at 20 locations. Moreover, since it is also possible to synchronize the test results with video images recorded with a USB camera, the behavior of the test specimen at distinctive points in the test force-deformation curve can be confirmed after the test.
