High-Speed Tensile Test of CNF-Reinforced Plastic

Because cellulose nanofiber (CNF) possesses a variety of excellent properties, development of CNF-reinforced composites is in progress. Although the expected applications of CNF composites are diverse, one such field is the automotive industry, where the ultimate purpose is to improve fuel efficiency by reducing auto body weight. However, considering the use conditions of automobiles, it is essential to grasp not only static properties, but also impact characteristics.
Here, tensile tests were conducted at various test speeds using an HITS-TX high-speed impact testing machine and an AGS-X table-top type universal testing machine.
