Tensile Test of Fabrics (JIS L 1096 Strip Method)

A tensile test of fabric specimens was conducted in accordance with JIS L 1096 (Testing methods for woven and knitted fabrics). The JIS standard provides various tensile test methods, but among them, this article describes the raveled strip method. Because a strip-shaped specimen is used in tests of fabrics, satisfactory testing is frequently impossible due to the composition of the grips used. Testing is possible by using an appropriate grip configuration.
