Characterization of Fiber Length and Dispersibility of Cellulose Nanofibers

Cellulose nanofiber (CNF) is a light weight, high strength biomass material with high gas barrier absorption and transparency. The fiber diameter and length need to be evaluated to evaluate the physical properties of CNFs. CNFs can be measured accurately with SPM, as in Application News No. S 30. On the other hand, there are also requests to evaluate profile of CNFs more easily in terms of quality control.
This article introduces an example of characterization of the fiber length and dispersibility of various CNF by using high sensitivity model SALD-7500nano nano particle size analyzer.
