LiDAR Evaluation System -Measurement of Transmittance/Reflectance of Optical Materials-

LiDAR, an abbreviation for Light Detection and Ranging, is one type of optical sensor technology and has attracted attention recently for use in self-driving automobiles. Since the measurable UV wavelength region of spectrophotometers used in LiDAR evaluation systems differs depending on the type of device, it is necessary to select a suitable device considering the wavelength of the laser to be used in LiDAR. In addition, evaluation of the angular dependence of transmittance (incident angle: from 0°) and reflectance (incident angle: from 5°) is also possible by combining a large sample compartment and a variable angle absolute reflectance measurement unit.
Here, the optical properties of two types of samples were evaluated using an ultraviolet-visible light (UV-VIS) spectrophotometer.
