Management of Chemical Substances
  • Reduce the use of CFC substitutes. With respect to the 2014 results of 400 kg, 2015 usage was substantially reduced to 92 kg.
  • All CFCs were recovered during the disposal of instruments to ensure no recovery omissions.
  • Surveyed 108 departments regarding their current status of chemical substance management.
  • Preparations were implemented with an eye to the processing of low concentration PCBs.
  • Eliminate the use of CFC and HCFC at Headquarter.
  • Achieve chemical substance management throughout entire life cycle
  • Proper management of machines contained CFC and HCFC by legal check and recovery before disposal.

  • In terms of emission intensity based on sales, CO2 emissions from energy usage were 9.74, which achieved the goal of reduction to 11.20 or less, 80 % or less of the FY 2010 level. (CO2 emissions in the applicable range were 33,116 t.)
  • Reduced CO2 emissions from energy use by 20% below the 2010 level.*5

*1 LCA: Life Cycle Assessment. LCA is a technique to assess environmental impacts associated with all the stages of a product's life-cycle and to reduce environmental impacts from a comprehensive viewpoint.

*2 MEMS: (Micro-electro-mechanical systems) Devices with mechanical elements, sensors, actuators, and electronic circuits integrated on a single circuit board

*3 NEMS: (Nano-electro-mechanical systems) A further development of MEMS, NEMS are devices having mechanical structures built on a nano scale using manufacturing technology for integrated circuit semiconductor devices.

*4 SAICM: Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management SAICM was coordinated at the February 2006 International Conference on Chemicals Management and approved by the United Nations Environmental Program.

*5 The target value was changed in April 2013 according to the current world trends and social conditions.
