Shimadzu Booth at the RSNA 2024
Conference of the World’s Largest Radiological Society
Shimadzu Corporation and Shimadzu Medical Systems USA jointly hosted a booth at RSNA 2024, the 110th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America, held at McCormick Place in Chicago, from December 1 to 5, 2024. The following describes the theme and some highlights of the Shimadzu booth this time.
Overview of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA)
“RSNA” refers to the Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America, which is the world's largest radiological society with over 50,000 members in 157 countries.
The annual meeting features presentations by specialists from throughout the world sharing information about the latest research and technology. Based on the theme “Building Intelligent Connections,” many of the presentations at RSNA 2024 appeared to involve the effects and roles AI will have on radiology.
The organizer announced that about 39,000 people registered to attend RSNA 2024 and 722 companies hosted exhibits at the associated exhibition.
Shimadzu Booth: Evolution, Innovation, Transformation
Based on a theme of “Evolution, Innovation, Transformation – solving challenges together,” the booth featured various Shimadzu solutions, such as diagnostic imaging systems that achieve a “More Efficient Workflow,” “New Clinical Value,” and provide a “Safer Environment” for healthcare.
The exhibit for the angiography system “Trinias series with SCORE Opera” offered a live demonstration of “SMART Voice” voice recognition functionality released in October of 2024. With SMART Voice, operators can perform 13 types of operations frequently used for catheterization procedures, and vascular disease examinations and procedures by simply speaking into a microphone, which helps increase the efficiency of examination work, reduce the burden on healthcare personnel, and reduce the number of labor hours required.

In addition, the product received the Red Dot Design Award 2024, an international design award for its design to improve user experience (UX). The console features a customizable touch panel functionality that reduces the number of operation steps, and levers with unique shapes for each function. The overall length of the console is designed to facilitate operation without requiring the operator to move. These features enable operators to focus on the patient and monitors without needing to look at the console, facilitating a more efficient operation. At the RSNA 2024 booth, many potential customers had the opportunity to try the demonstration unit.

The RSNA 2024 Shimadzu booth can also be experienced virtually. Please be sure to visit! (Note: Intended for medical personnel in English only)
