Abstract

Shimadzu developed a dedicated breast PET system, Elmammo, to provide help in detecting breast cancer, and released it in September 2014. A total of 10 systems had been installed by the end of August, 2017. This time, using the knowledge obtained from clinical use we have developed the Elmammo Avant Class. In this new system, we shortened the distance between the skin contact surface and the edge of the image to reduce the blind area, and refreshed the user interface and power supplies to improve operability. The present paper describes these improvements.
