Shimadzu Review 75[3・4] (2018.12)

Abstract

X-rays are used for the diagnosis of disease in the medical field and the inspection and development of products in the industrial field. In particular, X-ray CT is popular as a non-destructive inspection method to find internal defects and foreign matter, and as a method to quantify a productʼs actual shape and feed the data back to the design and manufacturing processes. Recently, in addition to conventional X-ray CT systems, the use of dimensional X-ray CT systems has become widespread, and since these are more suitable for measuring internal shapes, they are expected to become the new three dimensional measuring system. This article describes the result of measuring 3D printed resin material by XDimensus™ 300 dimensional X-ray CT system and a coordinate measuring system.
