Abstract

The fully automated real-time PCR system, AutoAmp, is space-saving and consists of a transport unit, an opening/closing unit, a dispensing unit, a thermal cycler unit, and a photometric unit. The user simply sets samples, reagents, reaction tubes, and dispensing tips in the system, and all steps from sample preparation to PCR and fluorometry are performed entirely automatically. A single AutoAmp system can test up to four samples simultaneously, and to accommodate more tests, up to four AutoAmp systems can be controlled by a single computer to run up to 16 samples/4 systems.
The analysis results can be judged as positive or negative by checking the amplification curve, and the measurement results can be output in report format. About one year has passed since its release, and it is now being used not only in clinics and medical clinics, but also in many other facilities such as corporate in-house clinics and educational institutions.
