Abstract

Cavity ring-down spectroscopy (CRDS) is a technology that can dramatically increase the detection sensitivity of laser absorption spectroscopy. We are developing a CRDS (14C-CRDS) system intended for the drug discovery field that can analyze radiocarbon isotopes (14C). This article describes our development of key technologies for achieving the 14C-CRDS system, development of a 14C-CRDS system based on those technologies, and a basic evaluation of that system.
