Abstract

A variety of analytical instruments play an essential role in driving green innovation across a range of sectors, including energy-related industries and transportation and manufacturing-related industries. Among them, Fouriertransform infrared (FTIR) spectrometers are used to analyze different gases and plastics in many fields of study including materials and new energy, a priority sector for green innovation in Japan. FTIR spectroscopy has a wide range of applications due to a variety of accessories that enable samples to be analyzed regardless of their state, whether gas, liquid or solid. This article presents the IRXross, a new type of mid-level Fourier-transform infrared spectrometer that offers high-level sensitivity, resolution, and measurement speeds, and describes the path to development, key steps in development, and features of the system. IRXross is expected to be used in green innovation and many other fields. Some example applications of IRXross are included to illustrate potential uses for the system.
