Development of Deep Learning-Based “SCORE Opera”
AI Image Processing Technology for Digital Angiography System

Abstract

As medical facilities use lower radiation doses in interventional procedures, X-ray noise in these low-dose regions reduces the visibility of interventional devices. Shimadzu already offers a real-time image processing engine (SCORE PRO Advance) for its “Trinias” angiography system to improve the visibility of interventional devices and ensure safe procedures even at low radiation doses. Now, Shimadzu has developed a new AI image processing technology (SCORE Opera) incorporating an “AI filter” designed with deep learning. This new AI image processing technology gives effective noise reduction and contrast enhancement for improved device visibility at even lower radiation doses.
