Abstract

Cavity ring ring-down spectroscopy (CRDS) is one of several techniques that dramatically improve the sensitivity of laser absorption spectroscopy. We are developing a CRDS system for radioactive carbon isotope ( 14 C) analysis ( 14 CC-CRDS) intended for use in biobased carbon content determination. This article describes the development of key technologies for this 14 CC-CRDS system and proof proof-ofof-principle experiments that demonstrate the performance of these technologies in an experimental 14 CC-CRDS system.
