Abstract
MultiNA II MCE-301 microchip electrophoresis systems improve the efficiency of genetic analysis operations by automating all the steps involved in nucleic acid electrophoresis, which require at least 2 hours when performed manu-ally. MultiNA II offers additional new data analysis functionality and even better operability than the previous MCE-202 MultiNA, while maintaining the same low operating cost and high throughput levels offered by MultiNA systems. In terms of operability, the new sample rack mechanism and dilution functionality support adding samples while other samples are being analyzed. Regarding data analysis, it features new functionality such as for RNA integrity index value calculation, fingerprinting analysis, and grouping analysis. In particular, the functionality for fingerprinting anal-ysis offers powerful support for polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) techniques used to investigate counterfeit food products. This article describes the composition and characteris-tics of MultiNA II systems and some application examples.
