Abstract

Since its founding, Shimadzu has developed state-of-the-art products and pursued innovation in the medical field. This article presents a history of Shimadzu’s main achievements in medical technology, including medical X-ray devices and more recent work related to the COVID-19 pandemic, presenting a summary of Shimadzu’s contributions to clinical prac-tice and ventures into new areas. This article also looks at prospects for medical technology in the coming years in light of past and present trends.
