Measuring Hexavalent Chromium Compounds in Atmospheric Dust

Analysis of hexavalent chromium compounds is introduced in this article, using the alkali-impregnated filter collection - ion chromatography post-column derivatization spectroscopic absorption method described in the "Manual of measurement methods for hazardous air pollutants" issued in March 2018 by Japan's Ministry of the Environment. The method uses diphenyl carbonohydrazide as a derivatization (reaction) reagent and allows selective and high-sensitivity analysis of hexavalent chromium.
