Visualization of GABA in Brain of Adult Drosophila Melanogaster by Mass Spectrometry Imaging

MS imaging of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a neurotransmitter that plays an important role in neurodegenerative diseases, had been impossible until now. The distribution of GABA in the brain of the Drosophila melanogaster was successfully observed by DPP derivatization to enhance ionization efficiency.
