Admission Fee:

Adults: 300 yen Middle/High School: 200 yen Elementary school or younger: Free

Note: An elevator is not available for exhibits to the second floor.
◯ Group discount: 20 % (min. 20 people, reservation required, and staff available as exhibit guide)

Hours: 9:30 to 17:00 (entry until 16:30)

Closed:

Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, year-end and New Year’s holidays, and other days decided on a case-by-case basis

Please make reservations at least 3 business days in advance.

Museum tours take about 1 hour.

The Shimadzu Foundation Memorial Museum provides an opportunity for students to learn the combination of science and technology, the founding spirit, the history of Kyoto, etc. through the exhibits. Our staff can also tailor your tour to your specific objectives, so please feel free to visit the museum as part of an educational field trip or school trip.

For Elementary School Students:

Worksheets are available for elementary school students. Participants receive a museum merchandise present! Visit the museum for your independent research or other plans during summer vacation.

Law of conservation of momentum, how video imaging works, center-of-gravity experiments, two-way mirrors, etc.
