February 10, 2026 | News & Notices Selected for CDP’s Climate Change “A List,” the Highest Possible Rating

Shimadzu Corporation has been selected as an “A List” company—the highest possible rating—in the “Climate Change” category of the fiscal 2024 survey conducted by CDP*, the international environmental non-profit organization. This recognition reflects CDP’s high assessment of Shimadzu’s climate change initiatives and related information disclosure. In the “Water Security” category, we also received an A- rating, the second-highest score in the eight-tier evaluation system.

Shimadzu Corporation has set a long-term goal of achieving net-zero CO2 emissions from its group business activities by fiscal 2050. Intermediate targets include reducing CO2 emissions by 85 % compared to 2017 levels by fiscal 2030 and by more than 90 % by fiscal 2040. We designate products with outstanding environmental performance as Eco-Products Plus, helping customers reduce CO2 emissions at their own sites. Shimadzu is also focused on utilizing electricity derived from renewable energy sources through initiatives such as installing solar power generation systems. In addition, the company has joined the RE100 international environmental initiative and committed to switching 100 % of the electricity used in the Group’s business activities to renewable energy sources by 2050.
