Improved X-ray examination efficiency through Auto-Tracking
Release of the New Floor-Mounted Radiography System, RADspeed Pro XF type

Floor-Mounted Radiography System, RADspeed Pro XF type
Shimadzu Corporation is pleased to announce the release of the floor-mounted radiography system, RADspeed Pro XF type, in overseas markets, excluding the United States, on March 30. Equipped with an auto-tracking function, the system enhances examination efficiency while featuring a floor-mounted design that is easy to install. It helps reduce the workload for medical professionals and improves comfort for patients during routine X-ray examinations in clinical practice.
In floor-mounted radiography systems, the X-ray tube unit is moved along rails or support structures installed on the floor. Demand for these systems, which do not require ceiling construction, is increasing—particularly in overseas markets—due to their reduced installation space requirements and lower installation costs. In addition, a shortage of medical personnel and a growing number of examinations have emerged as major challenges worldwide. As a result, there is an increasing need for equipment that enhances examination efficiency and reduces the workload on healthcare professionals to maintain and improve the quality of medical care.
The RADspeed Pro XF type features an auto-tracking function that automatically aligns the X-ray tube unit and detector with the position of the bucky table or bucky stand, ensuring appropriate irradiation positioning. Because system operation is less dependent on operator experience, it streamlines examinations and helps reduce the radiography workload. A touch-panel display on the X-ray tube support further enables precise alignment while confirming exposure distance and angle. Through this product, Shimadzu aims to enhance examination efficiency and support a stable and safe radiography environment.
Features
1. Improves Examination Efficiency and Reduces Workload
The auto-tracking function maintains an appropriate irradiation position and simplifies system alignment. In addition, the X-ray tube support is equipped with a touch-panel display that allows precise alignment while confirming exposure distance and angle, contributing to improved examination efficiency and reduced workload.
2. Designed to Accommodate a Wide Range of Patients
In addition to a high load-bearing capacity, the system features a bucky table equipped with safety sensors and a wireless foot switch, providing greater flexibility in operator positioning. This design enables safe and flexible examination of a wide range of patients, including wheelchair users and patients of varying body sizes.
3. High Installation Efficiency Enabled by a Floor-Mounted Design
Because ceiling reinforcement work is minimized, the system can be easily installed in examination rooms with limited space or in existing facilities. This highly practical floor-mounted design supports installation in hospitals facing space constraints and installation cost limitations.
