Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer

IRSpirit

The IRSpirit is a compact yet highly expandable infrared spectrophotometer. Infrared spectrometers are used for quality assurance testing in pharmaceutical and chemical fields or for substance identification by academic and research institutions, for example, based on qualitative analysis of unknown samples or molecular structures from the unique infrared absorption patterns exhibited by each substance. Despite the compact design that makes it easy to carry, it remains compatible with the many accessories used with current models to ensure compatibility with a wide variety of applications.

Compact Design is Compatible with User Operating Environments

Accessible from Both the Front and Side

The ability to fit the system in tight spaces is a significant benefit for laboratories with several instruments installed side-by-side or where chemical synthesis work involves having a variety of samples and laboratory equipment laid out, for example. Therefore, the sample compartment, start switch, and humidity indicator are accessible from either the front or side of the system.

IRSpirit

Designed Taking into Consideration the User Workflow

The location of user-accessible parts and the exterior color were designed to enable intuitive operability. Parts accessed by the user, to set samples or lift the instrument, are dark gray, to draw attention to them by accentuating the contrast with the white of the main body. All operations performed during analysis, such as setting samples, operating the power switch, replacing accessories can be performed from the flat top surface, which facilitates user operation. The flat top surface also allows large samples to be analyzed directly using a dedicated attenuated total reflection (ATR) accessory without the need to cut them and helps improve operability.

IRSpirit

Compact Yet Highly Expandable Design

The overall shape features a compact design that minimizes the enclosure surface while reflecting the interior structure of the instrument. The instrument footprint is less than 1/3 the previous model, even though the sample compartment width is unchanged. Despite the portable design, the sample compartment has the same width as the previous model, which means it is big enough to install the many accessories available for the current model.

Designed to Provide a Just the Right Sense of Distance

The most important factor when designing analytical products is deciding the distance between the user and the product and between the product and the space it is being used in. A perfect sense of distance, not too far and not too close, together with user-friendly operability and trustworthy analytical results provides a user with great peace of mind.
