Relying on a strategy that frequently featured a 3-wood off the tee, Saigo showcased the remarkable consistency that has become a hallmark of her game. She opened the championship with 38 consecutive bogey-free holes and headed into the final round in third place, seven shots behind the leader.
She continued to improve her score early in the final round, but later had to stay patient as she was unable to build momentum the way she had hoped. Even so, she produced a determined eagle finish in her final round, providing a memorable highlight to an impressive week.
She carded all four rounds in the 60s and secured a strong tie for fourth at 15-under. It was a performance that suggested her second major victory may not be far away. -

On a setup that tested many competitors from the opening round, she relied on her trademark grit to produce a steady performance. She showed signs of returning to form by using the greens’ slopes on approach shots and by reading the lines to hole several long birdie putts. With the season still in its early stages, we expect her to fully engage the golf intelligence that defines her game and mount a stronger challenge up the leaderboard.
