March 18, 2026 | News & Notices Selected as a “2026 KENKO Investment for Health Stock Selection” for the 4th Time Certified as a “White 500” KENKO Investment for Health Outstanding Organization for the 10th Consecutive Year

On March 9, Shimadzu Corporation was selected by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Tokyo Stock Exchange as a “2026 KENKO Investment for Health Stock Selection,” which is a recognition of publicly listed companies with outstanding health and productivity management practices. This is the 4th time that Shimadzu has been selected for this list, which recognizes companies that consider the health of their employees from a managerial perspective and take strategic initiatives accordingly. Shimadzu was also certified for the 10th consecutive year as a “White 500” KENKO Investment for Health Outstanding Organization by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Nippon Kenko Kaigi. This recognition applies to large-scale companies that are practicing outstanding health management, regardless of whether they are listed on the stock exchange.
At Shimadzu Corporation, we consider the health, safety, and vitality of each employee to be the foundation of our management, based on our management principle of “Realizing Our Wishes for the Well-being of Mankind and the Earth.” By creating an environment in which employees manage and promote health together, we aim to improve overall well-being, a state in which physical, mental, and social needs are satisfied. We have created a unique “Well-being” index based on our corporate culture to visualize employee scores. Aspects of this initiative include discussion-based training to learn the basics and practice of well-being, as well as providing health seminars for women. More than 100 employees have participated in our “Sleep and Meals Challenge,” an initiative on the themes of improved sleep and meal management.
Shimadzu subsidizes the costs for employees and their families to undergo MCI Screening Course Plus* and breast cancer screenings using our dedicated breast PET systems, both of which utilize Shimadzu’s instruments. The former examination evaluates the risk of mild cognitive impairment (MCI), said to be an early stage of dementia, through blood tests using liquid chromatograph mass spectrometers. The latter uses the Elmammo Avant Class, enabling painless breast cancer examinations. By extending our own healthcare products and technologies to our employees and their families, we are committed to creating a healthy and secure work environment and promoting the well-being of both our employees and their family members.
