Shimadzu Corporation has submitted a new Eco-First Commitment to the Minister of the Environment under the Ministry’s Eco-First Program, and renewed its certification. We were the first company in the precision equipment industry to receive Eco-First certification in October 2020, and now we are renewing it for the first time.

Shimadzu is actively promoting reductions in CO₂ emissions across our entire value chain and improving waste recycling rates, aiming to achieve net-zero CO₂ emissions in our business operations by 2050. We are also focused on developing and providing analytical technologies to address technical challenges related to carbon neutrality and the circular economy, helping realize a sustainable society. In addition, we are advancing coexistence with nature conservation activities at the Shimadzu Forest and working to restore local biodiversity.
