Improving operational efficiency using Shimadzu’s new HPLC features
When the target compound, such as an amino acid, needs to be derivatized, pretreatment with a reagent is necessary. However, the reproducibility or accuracy of the analysis may be affected depending on the skill of the operator during the pretreatment. The same is true for the preparation of mobile phases with complex compositions.
Here we present two examples of using an HPLC autosampler: automatic derivatization procedure and improvement of peak shapes by solvent co-injection. In addition, we show how to shorten work hours by using the mobile phase blending function built into our solvent delivery pump.
