Notice of Temporary Closure (April 13, 2020)

Based on the government policy of the Novel Coronavirus Response Headquarters, the temporary closure of the Shimadzu Foundation Memorial Hall has been extended until Thursday April 30, 2020 to prevent infection by the virus and its spread. (* Original schedule was from February 28 to April 1 2020.)

The schedule for opening the museum after May 1 (Fri) will be decided later, based on the given situation in the future. We apologize for the inconvenience it may cause to those waiting for the museum to open. Thank you for your understanding.

Information about Navigation app for visitors

We have started operation of an audio-visual Navigation app for visitors.

Due to the remodeling of the Foundation Memorial Hall last year, the website was newly updated as well.
With the exhibition room in the background, which recreates the atmosphere of Shimadzu's early years, the website allows experiencing Shimadzu's history of creating and manufacturing.
It also describes the main exhibits and lists all renovated exhibits.
