a Major Tournament on the U.S. Women's Golf Tour

Mao Saigo

Our affiliated professional golfer, Mao Saigo won the Chevron Championship, the first major tournament of the U.S. Women's Golf season, held from April 24 to 27 at The Club at Carlton Woods in Texas, USA. This marks the first time a Japanese player has won the Chevron Championship, and for Mao Saigo, it is a historic achievement as her first victory on the U.S. Tour comes in a major tournament.

In her second year of full participation on the U.S. Tour, Mao Saigo secured her win in a tightly contested playoff after finishing tied at 7-under with four other players. On the first playoff hole, Mao Saigo was the only player to make a birdie, clinching the major title.

This victory makes Mao Saigo the fifth Japanese female golfer in history to win a major tournament, and it is the sixth major title overall for Japanese women. Notably, the Chevron Championship was the only one of the five major tournaments where Japanese players had not previously secured a victory.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support.
