Introduction

Pulp (plant fibers made from wood) is the major raw material of paper. Due to the low specific gravity, it was previously difficult to obtain clear, high-contrast, X-ray CT images of the fibers in paper. This Application News introduces images of plain paper with low specific gravity, coated paper, and glossy photo paper taken with an inspeXio SMX-100CT Microfocus X-ray CT System.
