Radial Flow Columns
The Wedge® column features the same radial-flow design as the SuperFlo column, enabling straightforward and predictable scale-up from laboratory studies to production scale chromatography. By combining the advantages of radial-flow and conventional axial-flow chromatography, it supports efficient process development, scale-up, and troubleshooting.
Simple Scale-Up Using the Wedge Column
The Wedge column is designed for scale-up studies, featuring the same radial-flow structure as the SuperFlo column. It enables seamless scale-up to production scale. It can also be used to investigate production-scale issues by performing scale-down studies with a Wedge column and a small-scale chromatography system.
Example of Scale-Up to a SuperFlo Column
The following example demonstrates scale-up from a 400 mL Wedge column to a 12 L SuperFlo column. A seamless scale-up has been achieved, with the column size, sample volume, and flow rate all increased by a factor of 30.

Wedge Column Range
The Wedge column range includes two configurations: a standard model with a 10 cm bed height and the Wedge HiRes column with a 15 cm bed height. Both configurations are available in acrylic or stainless-steel constructions.
