Introduction

Pesticide residue analysis is critical for ensuring food safety. Because the number of target analytes can exceed several hundred, rapid and efficient multiresidue analytical methods are needed. In this study, a simultaneous analytical method for more than 300 pesticide compounds was investigated using the GCMS-TQ8040 RX triple quadrupole gas chromatograph-tandem mass spectrometer. Samples were introduced using a Multi-Mode Injection Unit (MMI) operated in programmed temperature vaporization (PTV) mode. Method development was facilitated by Smart Pesticides Database Ver. 2.2, which includes pre-registered optimized multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) conditions, enabling straightforward transition selection and reducing matrix-derived interferences. In addition, Peakintelligence for GCMS, an AI-based data analysis tool, was used to improve the accuracy and efficiency of peak detection and integration in complex chromatograms. The proposed method was evaluated quantitatively using spinach extracts. The results demonstrated its applicability to comprehensive pesticide residue analysis in food matrices.
