User Benefits

- Using the thermal desorption/extraction injection mode of the Nexis GC-2060 MMI (multi-mode injection unit), the sampling tube is directly installed in the inlet to complete the thermal desorption injection process. - All compounds meet the testing requirements of the standard GB 50325-2020 'Code for Indoor Environmental Pollution Control of Civil Building Engineering', with good sensitivity and stability.

Introduction

To effectively control indoor environmental pollution, the Chinese government issued the mandatory national standard GB 50325-2020 'Code for Indoor Environmental Pollution Control of Civil Building Engineering', which uses Thermal Desorption-Gas Chromatography (TD-GC) for analysis and came into force on August 1, 2020. In this work, a method for the determination of 16 VOCs and TVOC in indoor air was established using the thermal desorption/extraction injection mode of the Nexis GC-2060 gas chromatograph with MMI. The MMI inlet supports not only conventional split/splitless injection, but also multiple injection modes including large-volume injection (LVI), programmed temperature vaporization (PTV), thermal desorption and extraction. In the thermal desorption/extraction mode, operators only need to place the TD sampling tube into the inlet to complete thermal desorption injection. No dedicated thermal desorption device is required, resulting in cost and space saving.
