User Benefits

- The ability to perform continuous and highly accurate CO2 measurements over a wide concentration range is ideal for evaluating the capture efficiency of DAC systems. - The CGT-7100 is an all-in-one gas analyzer with on-board sample pretreatment, including a built-in sample pump, filter, and dehumidifier. - Data can be saved to a USB flash drive for easy data processing on a computer or sharing between groups.

Introduction

The Paris Agreement was a treaty adopted in 2015 intended to strengthen international initiatives aimed at addressing climate change. Two important goals for these initiatives are the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the development of technologies and strategies to reduce levels of greenhouse gases already in the atmosphere. One of these technologies is direct air capture (DAC), which helps fight climate change by capturing CO2 gas directly from the atmosphere. To date, DAC technologies have only achieved limited practical success, and further research into CO2 capture materials and system optimization is needed to enhance the efficiency of the CO2 capture process and improve DAC performance. Continuous and highly accurate measurement of CO2 levels over a wide concentration range is essential for the evaluation of DAC systems. This article presents a case study in which the CGT-7100 transportable gas analyzer is used to evaluate a DAC system that includes ambient air collection and CO2 isolation/capture operations.
