Analyzing Amines, Ammonia, and Organic Acids in Effluent Water

Amines are used in sulfur removal processes and as major components of CO2 absorption solutions, but they need to be removed to prevent corrosion in piping. The following presents an example of using an ion chromatography system to measure amines and ammonia.
Organic acids in effluents discharged to the environment must also be analyzed. In this example, the organic acid content in industrial effluent water was analyzed using an organic acid analysis system with a pH buffer solution and electrical conductivity detector.
