STABLO-AP Ar
Argon Gas Environments Static Remover (Ionizer)
Achieves safe and efficient static elimination!

Achieves a good ion balance due to static discharge control that is optimized for argon gas environments. Ensures that films, powdered samples, such as powdered battery materials, and other substances can be weighed efficiently.
- Ion balance optimization ensures safe operability by eliminating worry of sparking
- Uses optimal static removal performance in argon gas environments
- The draft-free ionizer
World’s First Static Charge Removal in Argon Gas Environments

New materials and their ingredients used for green transformation or carbon neutrality applications, such as in batteries, semiconductors, and toner films, are often highly reactive, making them difficult to handle in atmospheric environments where they are prone to degradation by moisture, nitridation or oxidation. To prevent this, research is typically carried out in airtight gloveboxes filled with inert argon gas (max. 1 ppm oxygen and moisture content).
However, conventional ionizers cannot be used in argon gas environments, as they risk generating static charges or causing discharge sparks. While radiation-based ionizers (such as soft X-ray or vacuum ultraviolet types) are an alternative, they present significant drawbacks, including radiation exposure for workers, UV-induced degradation of samples, in addition to their high purchase and operating costs.
Effective in Argon Gas Environments
By adjusting the + or - discharge voltage and discharge time based on the given gas environment, the corona discharge state can be optimized to ensure safe and efficient static charge elimination.

If a corona discharge ionizer for air atmospheres is used in an argon gas environment:
- Sparking might occur during ionizer operation.
- If sparking occurs, static charge might not be eliminated properly or an opposite static charge might be applied. ;
AC Method Produces Excellent Ion Balance
AC method: AC voltage is applied on the discharge needle and a well-balanced ions is emitted in from one electrode.
DC method: DC voltage is applied to a couple of electrodes. One is positive and the other is negative. Each electrode emits ions of one polarity only. An effective static removal angle is limited if the two electrodes are distanced. As electrodes deteriorate, initial ion balance is lost.

Unique 3-WAY Ionizer

On Stand
While being neutralized, charge-prone samples can be injected into a container without being scattered. You can also easily neutralize spatulas and sample bottles in the midst of the work flow.
Samples can be neutralized before weighing measurements.

Hand Held
You can neutralize sample static electricity during weighing measurements.
Move the unit freely to any position where static electricity is a concern and then neutralize it.

Build-in Balance
The AP series analytical balances (AP-W and AP-X series) are equipped with the space for incorporating the ionizer, and with an interface allowing for operation using the main unit’s keyboard. As seen in the video, simply pressing one button on the main unit’s panel eliminates static electricity. This makes stable measurements possible.
