Long-Travel Extensometer for Soft Materials

A Long-Travel Extensometer That Is Now Easier to Use and Even More Precise The DSES-1000 is a long-travel contact-type extensometer able to measure displacement up to the breakpoint in tensile tests of rubber and other soft materials. The upper and lower arms are clamped to respective gauge positions using a simple single operation, with each arm tracking sample elongation independently.
Features
-
The DSES-1000 can measure elongations up to 4000% for gauge lengths of 10 mm, 2000% for gauge lengths of 20 mm, 1600% for gauge lengths of 25 mm, or 1000% for gauge lengths of 40 mm.
A floating arm mechanism (patent pending) ensures tests can be performed reliably without the arms disengaging from samples. -
Offers ±0.2% precision for displacement measurements between 50 and 1000 mm, allowing measurement of long displacement distances can be measured with high precision.
-
The lateral quick clamping mechanism makes it easy to center the mounted position of extensometer edge with the sample.
The extensometer can also be attached to the sample first, before chucking the sample.

Cellulose nanofibers
Given that cellulose nanofibers(CNFs)offer attractive physical characteristics, such as light weight, strength, and hardness, they not only enable materials with advanced functionality, but are expected to be used as a reinforcing material that can reduce the weight of composite materials.

Hydrogen Energy Analysis Solutions for Quality Control of Hydrogen
Impurities in hydrogen production affect subsequent industrial processes. Strict purity standards have been defined for hydrogen used in fuel cells (ISO 14687-2019). This is because if hydrogen contains carbon monoxide, sulfur components, etc., the catalyst of the fuel cell will be damaged. The hydrogen fuel standard for FCVs (ISO 14687 TypeII GradeD) defines many items to be controlled, and Shimadzu analytical instruments can play a role in analyzing these items.

Shimadzu has released the MIV-X Ultrasonic Optical Flaw Detector
The MIV-X visualizes and digitizes flaws (peeling, cracks, and voids) in parts and multi-materials in aircraft, automobiles, and electrical and electronic equipment using our proprietary ultrasonic optical flaw detection technology, which acquires an image of the propagation of ultrasonic on the surface of an object.
