Shim-pack Velox Biphenyl
HPLC Column

Biphenyl
Shim-pack Velox Biphenyl provides enhanced retention of aromatic compounds. It is useful for fast separations in bioanalytical applications due to the increased retention of early eluting analytes such as dipolar, unsaturated and conjugated analytes.
- Complementary selectivity to alkyl phases
- Enhanced separation of aromatic compounds
- Ideal for increasing sensitivity and selectivity in LC/MS(/MS) analysis
Separating the Structural Isomers
Even under the condition where 56 drugs of abuse and metabolites in human urine are quantitated within 10 minutes, two structural isomers, amobarmital and pentobarbital, which have been historically difficult to separate due to their similarity in chemical structures, could be relatively well resolved with shim-pack Velox Biphenyl column.

An Improvement in Preparative SFC Efficiency Utilizing Online SFE-SFC System as a “Solid Autosampler”
Preparative SFC is a groundbreaking separation and purification technology. It has a number of advantages in comparison to preparative LC including simplified posttreatment, shorter analysis times, and different separation selectivity. With preparative SFC, the injection of large sample volumes is often required in order to increase the recovered amount.

Analysis of Tea Beverages Using Catechin Analysis Kit
The catechin analysis kit, developed in collaboration with the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (NARO), provides validated test methods for catechins in tea leaves and green tea drinks from sample pre-treatment to HPLC measurement. You can accurately quantitate the content of 11 catechins (including methylated catechins) and caffeine in tea leaves. This article summarizes the results of the catechins quantitation in several beverages: green tea, black tea, and oolong tea.
